Office 2010 preview to be available by Q3

April 14, 2009 9:11 pm CDT

Few hundreds of thousands of beta testers will be the first set of people who can put their hands to test Office 2010 (currently popular as Office 14) that will be made available to them in Q3. This is confirmed by an Exchange Server team member to a leading Beta testing website. The lucky few will, this time, be out of the traditional MSDN and TechNet subscribers too. Along side Office 2010 will be SharePoint Server 2010, Visio 2010, and Project 2010 which are expected to be available and in sync with Microsoft product release timelines.

While expectations are high about Office 2010, support for OpenDocument Format and ISO 29500 format will gain some attention. The Office Communications Server (OCS) Release 2 released in February will also get a revisit sometime later during the year.

The final end-user ready of Office 2010 will be released only next year.
