I swore Jeff wrote a post about upgrading his blog software, but I can't find it. It's not in the comments or anywhere. I'm hoping someone can give me a quick answer and we can let this sink to the bottom and get indexes by google.

From this blog entry (April 22, 2008, could have changed since):
I sure am glad I started this blog in Movable Type way back in 2004. Their classic static rendering blog engine approach may be derided today, but I shudder to think of the number of times the Coding Horror webserver would have been completely incapacitated over the years by the naive -- no, that's too tame -- brainlessly stupid dynamic rendering approach WordPress uses.

At the moment? It's a static site made from bits recovered off the web. Jeff tweeted about posting via editing text files. Which is why comments are disabled.
Before? It was Movable Type. Seemingly MT is harder to restore, because blog.stackoverflow.com is back, while codinghorror.com is still no comments.

After tons of searching, I figured out it runs on Movable Type.

It was switched TO wordpress, there's a post or two about it ... if they survived the recent disaster recovery lesson

Nope it wasn't. blog.stackoverflow and fakeplasticrock are Wordpress blogs, which is why he blogged about Wordpress. - Macha on January 16, 2010
Content from Superuser of Stack Exchange. Original article at Superuser.
@~quack If it gets migrated to meta *I'll* close it, because it's not Stackoverflow related *in the least*. But seeing as it's about "computer software" I figured it fit. - Tom Ritter on January 16, 2010
Actually, meta is for questions related to the stack overflow trilogy sites, CodingHorror is something different, so meta doesn't especially match. However, it will match more than SuperUser, because from a simple SU point of view, this question is not computer related, and too localized. - Gnoupi on January 16, 2010
